Elizabeth O'Quinn

Elizabeth Ellen Kelley O’Quinn, 88 of Summersville passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Summersville Extended Care Facility. She was born September 13, 1927 in Smithers to Jesse and Dorothy Bainbridge Kelley. She was one of Jehovah’s Witness by faith and a graduate of Nicholas County High School. She was briefly employed by H&R Block.

Affectionately known by the staff at Summersville Extended Care as “Queen Elizabeth”, she loved to travel and visit with family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and often taught them songs and would sing along with them. She enjoyed gardening and canning her own fruits and vegetables.

Left to cherish her memory is her son John (wife Valencia) O’Quinn of Summersville; grandsons Jon (wife Renate) O’Quinn and Timothy (wife Goldie) O’Quinn; granddaughters Sarah (husband Andrew) Garland and Anna-Lisa (husband Brian) Beall; great-grandchildren Landon and Gavin Beall, Carter, Ella, and River Garland, all of Summersville; beloved nieces Susie Kelley Humphries and Dorothy Draper; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jennings O’Quinn; daughter Dorothy Ellen O’Quinn; three brothers; and three sisters.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Summersville Kingdom Hall, North Broad Street, Summersville.
