Carolyn Morris

Carolyn Morris passed away at her home in Kill Devil Hills, NC with her children by her side on Sept. 24, 2010.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1943 in Palmer, Grundy Co., TN to Walter and Tilda Roberts Coffelt; both deceased. She worked at the Webster County Court House for about 20 years. She lived most of her life in Webster County but live the past seven years in NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morris, and her son, Russell Hawk. She was also preceded in death by one sister; Oleavy Shrum, and four brothers, Arthur, Vee, Whit, Jim and Walter.

She is survived by 5 daughters, Joyce Hawk of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Lisa (Mike) Russell of Cowen, Patricia (Darrell) Howell of Lynchburg, VA, Billie (Shandele) Hamrick of Webster Springs, and Debra (Trey) Booker of Richmond, VA, and one son, William (Kim) Morris Jr. of Cowen. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Randi, Jessica, Sammi, Cody, Caitlin, Joshua, Kayla, Caleb, and Elijah. She has two great grandchildren; Levi and Madison. She is also survived by four step grandchildren; Cody, Tiffany, Nikie, and Chris. She is also survived by 3 sisters; Ophelia Baker of IN, Catherine Brewer of Palmer, TN, and Inez Franklin of TX.

Services are to be held at Adams -Reed Funeral Home in Cowen, WV, 1:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Burial will be in Handschumacher Cemetery, Upperglade, WV. Friends may call on Sunday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
