Dale Sue Holcomb, 66, of Cowen passed away at Webster Memorial Hospital on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Born December 22, 1959 in Sutton, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia Dale (Short) Spence.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Spence; brothers-in-law: Tinker, Lincoln, and Ike Holcomb.

Dale was a home healthcare aide having worked for her sister Charolette for several years. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, particularly the show: Yellowstone.  She also liked cooking, camping, going shopping, visiting with her family and spending time with her granddaughter. Dale had never met a stranger, never had an enemy, and was loved by all.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John; daughter, Sarah Dodrill; granddaughter,  Jadyn Holcom; brothers: David (Lauri) Spence, Ronnie (Becky) Spence, and Cameron “Jimmie” Spence; sisters: Billie (David) Durham, Martha Spence, and Wilma (Butch) Lough; sisters-in-law: Jean Crites, Mary Miles, Cindy (Stevie) Jenkins; brother-in-law, Bill (Erma) Holcomb; grand fur babies: Cody, Zeus, Tommy; and her beloved cat, Tabby, many nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing.

Services to celebrate Dale’s life will be held 1PM, Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Doug Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Alex Williams, Cranberry Ridge.  Friends may join the family for visitation 5-8pm, on Friday evening, at the funeral home.
