David E. Angus, 98, of Cowen, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Summersville Regional Medical Center.
David was born November 25, 1920 in Dorothy, WV and was the son of the late Frank Dewey and Maude Stover Angus.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his first wife Glenna and his loving wife of 65 years. Bethel Angus; first brothers, Wyatt Gene Angus and Bernard Angus and also sisters, Juanita Long and Adelaide Booker.
David was a lifelong member of the Cowen First Baptist Church, he was the oldest living deacon, had also served as head chairman on the trustee board and was also past treasurer; he loved his church and attended church functions. He had a very giving heart and would help anyone that he could. David was a retired Mining Engineer for Sewell Coal Company with 40 + years of dedicated service. He also enjoyed the outdoors, farming and raising his fruit trees.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, George Edward Angus (Tonda) of Huntington, Gene “Pete” Angus (Patty) of Cowen, Brian Angus (Kimberly) of Summersville and Glenn Tuck of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Jason Angus, Kelly Beth Dangelo (John), Kristina Estudillo (Adam), David Angus (Linda), Ryan Angus (Kara) and Nathan Angus (Randi); great-grandchildren, Abrianna Angus, Will Angus, Sarah Beth Dangelo, Ella Grace Dangelo, Baylee Estudillo, Noah Angus, Seth Angus, Grant Angus, Gracyn Angus, Jude Angus, Fiona Angus, Madison Angus, Joanna Angus, Emily Angus; and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 4, 2019 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Don Bean officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may join the family for visitation 5-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
