Deborah “Debbie” Snyder, 65, of Cowen, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 16, 1959, in Richwood, WV, to the late Stuart and Barbara “Bobbi” McCumbers.
Debbie graduated from Webster County High School in 1977, where she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Snyder. They were married on May 23, 1976, and shared 49 wonderful years together.
Debbie was a Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Cowen. She had worked as a cook at Glade Elementary, a political poll worker during election time, was the primary caretaker of her mother-in-law, Mildred Snyder, for 10 years, and was her husband’s right-hand lady in the business that they shared, Bill’s Body Shop.
Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, nana, and sister.
Left to keep her memory alive are her loving husband of 49 years, Bill Snyder; three daughters, Lynn (Shawn) Rose, Shelia (Matt) Brown, and Annie (Lundy) Bailey; seven grandchildren, Alyssa (Caleb) Hardway, Dawson Tharp, Kenadi McCoy, Logan and Lily Brown, and Jaylen and Elias Bailey; two great-grandchildren, Roman and Titus Hardway; one sister, Mina Bailey; and mother-in-law, Mildred Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Kenneth “Kenny” McCumbers; and her father-in-law, Warden Snyder.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Monday, August 25, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Cowen with Pastor Bryan Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.
Friends may join the family for visitation 6-9 PM Sunday evening at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen.
