Dencil P Crites, 89 of Erbacon passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born November 22, 1924 at Bug Ridge, Braxton County to Orval G. and Rushie B. Jackson Crites and retired from the  Railroad with 38 yrs of service. He lived in Webster County his whole life. He was a charter member of the Erbacon Fire Dept, was the oldest member, He was involed with the fire dept until his last breathe was taken, He was generally willing to help anyone, He was active with Erbacon days and Erbacon Community Council. He was a WWII veteran serving in many countries and was a Liberator in the Concentration Camps.

He is survived by sons; Darrell P. (Marsha ) Crites of Parkersburg, Alvin W. (Donna) Crites of Cowen, Richard R. (Shirley) Crites of Cowen, daughters; Doris G. Armstrong of Erbacon, Patty K. (Pete) Angus of Cowen, Angela R.(Larry) Cottrill of Summersville, borthers; Charles (Dorma) Crites of Dalton, OH. and Odis Crites of Erbacon, sisters; Wilda Black of Idaho, Betty Plymale of Wooster Oh., Thelma Wayne of Cowen. fifteen grandchildren fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and his faithful companion Toby.

He was peceded in death by his parents, His loving wife Helen Bean Crites, brother Leon Crites and sisters; Dolly Crites, Mildred Davis and Lena Johnson.

Freinds can join the family for visitation on Thursday December 26, 2013 from 5-6 p.m. at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Service to celebrate Dencil's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 27 at the Erbacon Community Church with one hour visitation before service, with the Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park, Erbacon.
