Erma Lee Peyatt

January 7, 1947 — May 3, 2025

Webster Springs

Erma Lee (Tenney) Peyatt, 78, of Camden on Gauley, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Summersville Regional Medical Center.

Born January 7, 1947, in Nicholas County, she was the daughter of the late Charles William and Lola (Williams) Tenney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Peyatt; granddaughter, Myrissa Peyatt; brother, Shirley Williams; and sisters: Rosie Phillips and Ada Phillips.

Erma was a homemaker who loved everything about raising her family. A special wife turned into a special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved each and every one of her family members and especially snuggling with the babies. She enjoyed camping, cooking, eating, and gardening; being especially proud of her cucumbers. No matter what she was doing, she was almost certain to be singing a song and praising the Lord. She was a proud member of the Gauley Mills Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Charles Peyatt; children: William Peyatt, Connie (Rowland) Short, Duane (Rebecca Chambers) Peyatt, and Allen Peyatt; grandchildren: Little William, Justin, Erica, Myranda, Mykal, Joshua, Brandy, Jacob, Heather, Joseph, Jeremiah, Rosemary, Ashlee, and Kelsey; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing

Services to celebrate Erma’s life will be held 5pm, Monday, May 5, 2025, at Gauley Mills Baptist Church, with Pastor Junior Hayhurst officiating. Burial will follow at Fleming Cemetery, Cottle. Friends may join the family for visitation from 3pm-5pm, at the church.
