Ethel Irene Given, 94 of Cowen passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Glasgow Golden Living Center.  She was born June 19, 1918 in Cowen to Benjamin E. and Ruhama Janet Moffatt and was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Webster County.  She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Upper Glade, for over 50 years she was a member of the Rebecca Lodge at Cowen and Pythian Sisters Glade Temple #17, a member of the Cowen Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary, American Legion Auxillary, Cowen Women's Club, Webster County Memorial Hospital Auxillary, Senior Citizens of Cowen and Webster Springs, and a volunteer for the Cowen Railroad Festival.

Ethel is survived by her daughters Phyllis and husband Jim White of Charleston, Dawn Perrine of Tucson, AZ, and Evelyn Hardman of Belleair Bluffs, FL; brother Lloyd Moffatt of Akron, OH; grandchildren Stephanie Mellace, David White, Tommy Perrine, LaDonna Carver, Robbie Hardman, and Chuck Hardman; great-grandchildren Robert Mellace, Tiffany Clark, Michael Mellace, Heather Breedlove, Jonathan Perrine, and Gregory Perrine; and great-great-grandchildren Brooke, Bailey, Caleb, and Ty Hardman, Hunter and Katie Breedlove, Emily Clark, Robert and Liam James Mellace; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Herndon Given; parents; sisters Eula, Goldie, and Hazel; and brothers Howard and Benny.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home.  Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home under the direction of her grandchildren.  Interment will follow in Handschumacher Cemetery.
