Gladys Lewis Ramsey

Gladys Marie Barnette Lewis Ramsey, 96, of Camden-on-Gauley, gained her angel wings on March 2, 2018 at Webster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cowen, WV surrounded by her two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marie was a Post Master at Camden-on-Gauley Post Office for 30 years. She was married to Willard Lewis for 25 years until his death.

She was married to Rev. Elihue Ramsey for 14 years.

She was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church at Camden-on-Gauley until her health declined. She was active in church as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School as well as Reverend Ramsey's Ministry.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; Sidney Barnette and  Sarah Ocheltree Barnette, two sisters, four brothers, husbands Willard Lewis, Rev Elihue Ramsey, Daughter Betty Lewis Schukman and Grandaughter Debbie Flanagan Woods.

She is survived by two daughters: Sue (Buel) Russell, Donna (JC) Flanagan all of Craigsville;  Seven Grandchildren: Rick (Susan) Lewis of Fayetteville, Randall (Angie) Russell of Marlington, Ronnie Russell, Robbie (Nikki) Russell, Rodney (Tina) Russell, Denise (Brad) McGraw, JimBob (Lisa) Flanagan,  all of Craigsville.

She is survived by fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Special caregivers Edith Smallwood and Wanda Wegman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Adams- Reed Funeral Home in Cowen, WV. Funeral service  will begin at 7:30 p.m., officiated by Rev. Eddie Groves. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at Blacks Chapel Cemetery, Camden-On-Gauley, WV.
