Hilda Ayers

Hilda P. Ayers 93, formerly of Cowen passed away Thursday May 12, 2011 at Roane General Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1917 at Saxmen, WV, the daughter of the late Vernon and Drotha Poole. She lived most of her life in Webster County, was a retired cook from Cowen Grade School, and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, and WCASSE. She also enjoyed cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Ernest Ayers, brothers; Brook and Bernard Poole, and sister; Arlene Adams.
Surviving sons; Ernest "Frank" (Christine) Ayers and Arnold (Barbara) Ayers both of Cowen, WV, daughters; Joann(Jim) Campbell of Dennison, TX, and Connie (Delmas) Claypool of Spencer,WV, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Service will be at 1:30p.m., Monday, May 16,2011, at Adams -Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Weaver of Spencer, WV, offciating. Burial will be in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin, WV.
