Jackie J. Russell

Jackie Jubert Russell, 76 of Cowen, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Jackie was born April 4, 1949 in Richwood and was the son of the late Jubert and Goldie Williams Russell. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his Uncle Gerold and Aunt Gay Russell, Uncle Bruce Williams, brother, Mike Russell, brother-in-law, Mike Walker and also a great grandson, Michael McCutchan.

Jackie was a member of Love and Life Fellowship Church, Williams River. He had worked as a coalminer for several years then started his business, Russell and Son Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building primitive furniture; more than anything he enjoyed spending time with Retha, his kids and grandkids.

Surviving are his wife Retha; children, Angela (Greg) Crouso of Cowen, Keith (Jody) Russell of Streetsboro, OH, Joey (Noel) Russell of Warrenton, VA, Heather Russell and Jackie Russell both of Clarion, PA, Cathy Claypool of Cowen, Tina (Donnie Jones) Gilles of Ripley, Bobby (Angie) Gilles of Webster Springs and Charlie Bill (Martia) Hamrick of Thomasville, NC; sisters Carrol Walker and Connie Russell; many grandkids and great grandkids and many other extended family members.

Service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Love and Life Fellowship Church with Pastor Allen Sanson officiating.  Friends may join the family for visitation 11AM until service time at the church.  Burial will follow at Alex Williams Cemetery, Camden-On-Gauley.
