Lena Johnson

Lena Johnson, age 88, of Cowen, WV passed away on July 10, 2011 at the residence of her daughter in Federalsburg, Maryland.  She was born March 3, 1923 in Braxton County to Orville Grant and Rushie Bell Jackson Crites and was the head cook for Webster County Schools.  She was a protestant by faith and enjoyed rose gardening and fishing.  Her joy was being head cook at Glade Elementary School.   Lena is survived by her son Robert (Jean) Crites of Cowen; daughters Barbara (Neil) Tourangeau, and Lillian Delma (David) Smith of Edinburg, Virginia; brothers Denzil Crites of Erbacon, Charles Crites of Orville, Ohio, and Odis Crites of Erbacon; sisters Wilda Black of Idaho, Betty Plymale of Orville, Ohio, and Thelma Wayne of Cowen; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Basil Levi Bean and Edgar Johnson; companion Eugene Leon "Dude" Sandy; and two sons Eugene Crites and Rodney "Bubby" Johnson.  Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 5-8 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cochran officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Erbacon, WV.
