Letha J. (Tharp)”Bonnie”  Wolverton, 89, of Erbacon, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Summersville Regional Medical Center.

Born May 15, 1926 at Laurel Patch Run, she was the daughter of the late Arthur McClure and Bertha Mae (Brown) Tharp.  In addition to her parents, Letha was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Lyons and her siblings, Marie Holcomb, Alta Wolverton, Nelson “Jake” Tharp, Ralph Tharp, Myrtle Tharp, Flossie Tharp, and Vada Tharp.

She was a good Christian lady and attended Erbacon Community Church.  Letha enjoyed cooking and sewing.  She loved the Lord and reading her Bible.   The legacy she leaves behind was of a very loving, caring and wonderful mother and granny.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Wolverton; children, Dorene (husband, Jake) Lyons of Birch River, Dana Morris of Gassaway, Gayle (husband, George) Helber of Glade View, Carol (husband, Gary) Welch of Cottle, James “Jimmy” (wife, Candy) Wolverton of Erbacon, Steve (companion, Shawana Sink) Wolverton of Cowen; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.

Services will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen with the Reverends Craig Williams and Jacob Lyons officiating, burial will follow at Wolverton Family Cemetery, Waynesville.

Friends may join the family two hours prior to the service time at the funeral home.
