Obituary

Patrick Wesley Jarvis, 55, of Cowen, West Virginia passed away Friday April 17, 2026 after a sudden illness.

He was a 1989 graduate of Hurricane High School and attended West Virginia State College. Patrick was an accomplished banjo player, performing at the Vandalia Festival in Charleston, WV. He was a disc jockey for many years, later becoming a licensed massage therapist and instructor, working in Houston, Texas. In 2009, his massage skills were extolled in an article in Envy Magazine.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Early and Fannie Jarvis, maternal grandparents Ralph and Daisy Williams, parents Luther and Phyllis Jarvis, brother David Jarvis, and mother-in-law Kathy Means.

He is survived by wife Barbara Means Jarvis and sons Dustin and Andrew Jarvis, sister and brother-in-law Amy and Joseph Henderson, sister and brother-in-law Casey and Mark Burgess ,brother Joseph Jarvis, niece Regan Jarvis (Ben Fisher), niece Rachel Jarvis (Justin Workman), great niece and great nephew Moon Jarvis-Workman and Oliver Jarvis-Workman, and parents-in-law Robert and Jo Means.

Patrick was happy to be back in West Virginia near his family and many friends. While he was proud of his accomplishments as a massage therapist and instructor, he was most proud of his two sons Dustin and Andrew.

Patrick will be remembered for his charisma, wisdom, quick wit, and unmatched ability to tell a story. He was truly a special brother and friend.

Honoring his wishes, Patrick was cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
